Due to the nature of Scotland’s changing weather & the layout of the restaurant under the current guidelines we are unable to reserve any spaces in our courtyard.
The courtyard will be open until 9 pm but will be based on a first-come-first-served basis. Unfortunately, we will only be allowed to serve alcohol to guests when seated at a table outside.
We are hoping that alcohol will be allowed indoors from 17th May.
Timberyard is a family-run restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh. Set in an authentic warehouse dating back to the 19th century when it was built as a props & costume store.
Timberyard is a space that can be used for events & weddings, whether it's a celebration for two or a family gathering for eighty.
Our private room, the Shed, is an intimate space for any small gatherings, birthdays, or meetings. Seating ten maximum.
Ingredient led cooking created with respect to nature & produce, sourced from local, artisan suppliers & Scotland’s larder.
Vegetarian & vegan options also available.
"Timberyard is the culmination of Andrew and his wife, Lisa’s, decades-long careers running restaurants in Edinburgh, only on this venture, it’s a family affair. With Ben as head chef, daughter Abi on communications and youngest son Jo behind the bar, all members of the Radford family are involved in contributing to this local favourite’s homely, inviting feel. Amping up the settle-in feel is the converted warehouse space the restaurant calls home, a sprawling old timber yard made intimate with slouchy seating, a woodburning stove and chunky wooden tables".
Our cellar is made up of wines we love to drink. Made by friends of ours who respect the land & grape. Full of energy & life.
Timberyard offers gift cards starting at £50. There is no expiry & can be used for any special occasion.

Reopening
After the recent government announcement, we’re delighted to announce that Timberyard will reopen from Thursday 29th April. We will be able to serve alcohol in the yard until 9 pm but for the time being not indoors.
We can’t wait to see you all!
Water Aid
Timberyard is pleased to support Water Aid. We can sometimes take the water that comes through our taps for granted. Here at Timberyard we filter it, chill it & offer it either still or carbonated. Historically we have not charged & are committed to that but have decided that from December 2020 we will ask for a discretionary donation of £1 from each guest. All of this will go directly to Water Aid.

Policy
We know this time of great uncertainty is having a huge impact on our lives & we are keen to let you know we are doing all we can to help keep you & our team safe. We are continually monitoring the guidelines & advice provided by the Government & are committed to making the right decisions for our guests & team.
Re-opening training has been given to our team to ensure as safe an environment for all of our guests as possible. Regarding Track & Trace, all of our guests will be required to provide an email address & telephone number as part of the Government’s Track & Trace.
Sanitising stations are available within the restaurant for customer use. We respectfully ask everyone to sanitise their hands when entering the restaurant. Social distancing rules of 2m are to be observed when dining with us. Daily briefings are carried out with our staff to ensure the reinforcement of the policy in line with our COVID 19 risk assessment.
The table spacing at Timberyard has been adapted to allow safe distancing for both customers and our team. Restaurant tables & chairs will be disinfected after use & before being reset. A very thorough cleaning procedure is in place regarding all cutlery, glassware, pottery, kitchen, bar & restaurant equipment. A deep clean of the restaurant areas will be carried out at the end of each day. Touchpoints both front of house & back of house will be disinfected throughout the day in line with our COVID 19 risk assessment.
None of our team will be allowed to work if they are showing any COVID 19 symptoms. Guests are requested to not visit Timberyard if they are displaying symptoms of COVID 19. Symptoms include a new, continuous cough, where you cough a lot for more than an hour, or have three or more coughing episodes in 24 hours. Fever where your temperature is above 37.8°C.
